Ok well not shocked has many people know these secrets but I feel that it’s not pointed out enough times. I see many people make the same mistake, they find create a website, submit it to google, and sit back waiting for the wave of people to start browsing there website… Think again! Google is thickle search engine and wants some loving before it treats you like a professional webmaster.

Your site is not even indexed when you hit the submit button, even after 4 weeks there is a slight chance that google will even put your site into there search engines. And even if it does get placed in there are many factors that you need to count.

#1 Is your site optimized enough for the keywords your using?

#2 Do you have enough BL (Backlinks) to your site to give your site a good PR rating?

These two things are a must! If you don’t have this then your site will fail! Once you have this then your guaranteed a place in google and even a spot in the first few pages of your keywords. This means you will start getting free traffic to your site!

Getting a good PR rating is not easy, you will need to contact sites that is relevant to yours and ask if they want to exchange links. What does this all mean? Well in simple terms it means that you will have to place the URL of the site your asking onto your site and they will also do the same. Now it’s very important that the site your asking is relevant to yours, why is this? Well clever google sends out little spiders (Also called robots) No joke these are real! These spiders search googles sites in the search engine and if it finds a site which is relevant to yours then it will give you a better PR rating and also place you higher in the rankings of your chosen keywords.

The more BL you have the higher your PR and higher your google ranking. Remember! If you start placing any old link on your site then you could possibly get punished by google. This wont harm you much but it aint doing you any good. Remember spiders are clever, dont try and fool them has they will not fall for it! Now you have google all sorted out, now what? Well don’t stop now! Lets post some Articles! Yes there are many many free sites that will submit your articles to ezine news sites and article websites. Some even post to around thousands in one go but these normally charge your for there service. Doing this will boost your BL and also your PR rating, and if your article is even good enough to read then some people will post it on there sites with your link back to your website! This again gives your good BL/PR! WOOO.

Want more ideas? How about forums? What have forums got to do with boosting BL/PR? Well Google also scans forums too! It even scans and index posts. You must have seen some of your search results turn out into posts from forums? No well then your one of the unlucky few in the world… Anyway! Posting on forums and placing your website url into your signature will get picked up by google. Posting on high PR forums will get your site indexed into google in no time. And again try and stick to forums that is related to the subject of your site.

Comment sections in sites also get scanned by google too! If you see a site that allows you to comment on a blog or a product or even an article. No matter what it is if it a comment box then leave a comment and post your url inside it. Look at this! Free advertising! Though I must add! Some sites dont like you posting your url in a comment section, do it at your own risk has you could get your IP banned from the site you are posting on.

Remember, advertising and promoting your site does not have to mean you have to waste loads of cash on products like “Traffic Brokers” or “PPC” sites. Ohh a warning most traffic brokers I have used have always failed to generate a sale from my site. I would suggest passing on these has all they do to generate traffic for your site is turn your nice site and place it into a popup on some of there network sites. And you know what happens to popups dont we?

The beauty of digital audio is its promise of pristine quality.
No clicks, hiss or scratches that were the norm of vinyl and
tape recordings. That’s not to say that all digital audio is
noise-free. Far from it. Poor recordings can still be made in
the digital medium and recordings that have been transferred
from analog (vinyl records or cassettes) to digital will retain
some of their noise.

Fortunately, cleaning up digital audio is a fairly easy process.
There are many software packages on the market specifically
designed for reducing specific types of noise in digital
recordings. Not all of them are suitable for all types of noise,
so it’s important to analyze the type of noise you are trying to
get rid of.

Most noise reducing software has a function for removing
background hiss. This works by capturing a profile of the
background noise. The profile is used to create a filter that
matches the characteristics of the noise. To use this function
you must select a quiet section of the audio to get a sample of
the noise you want to reduce. A good place to take your sample
from is between songs or the first second or two before the
audio actually starts. The sample does not have to be long -
half a second is all you need - but it can’t be music or voice -
it should represent a silent section.

This noise profile will help you to reduce exactly the right
kind of noise from your audio recording. It is useful for
reducing background hiss, but clicks and pops need another kind
of processing.

Pops and clicks are of two flavours - digital and analog.
Digital clicks can be caused by processor overload as you make a
digital recording. The recording “stops” for a moment and the
resulting skip creates a very short click. Digital clicks are
easy to detect and most noise reduction software does this
automatically.

Analog clicks and pops are caused by scratches and imperfections
on vinyl and their duration is much longer than digital clicks.
To remove this type of noise, a special filter is needed to
automatically detect and remove the unwanted sound. Settings can
be adjusted to match the size and frequency of the noise.

There are several audio packages on the market that are
specifically designed to reduce noise from vinyl and cassette
recordings. They allow you to capture the audio digitally by
connecting a turntable or cassette deck to the sound card on
your computer. Once the audio is stored on the computer, it can
be processed to remove background hiss and clicks. Most presets
will give you adequate results and you will be able to enjoy
your old recordings in the digital domain.

Who hasn’t played a game of bingo before? This is a very old and simple number game that many people play in kindergarten to start learning their numbers. The bingo player is first given a bingo card. A player can have as many cards as he or she wants. Obviously the more cards you have, the more likely it is that you will win. To start the game a rotating bin with numbers in it is spun and one number/letter is called out, for example N32 may be called. You then call out “bingo” to signify that you have won.

The trick with having a wedding party is that eventually you’re
going to have to choose someone to be the ‘best’ something.
Women have it slightly easier because they can opt to have a
Matron of Honor as well as a Maid of Honor, but even so, it’s a
difficult decision to make.

Any tips?

Ladies first

Many women feel the pressure of having to choose their ‘bestest’
friend for the honor of being Matron or Maid in their wedding.
They feel like they are leaving one of their friends out or
hurting their feelings. First of all, realize that the duty of
being in the wedding party is enormous. The Matron of Honor has
a lot to do before and during the wedding itself, so you will
want to choose someone that you think can handle it.

If you’re the bride, you may feel that you have to choose a
family member as well, but that’s not necessary. You might
include them as a part of the party, but if you have a really
close friend that you want to bestow the honor upon, then do so.

Find someone who isn’t overly busy or committed. If they live in
the town that you’ll be married in, that’s great too. Even if
you’re out of town, you’ll get to be able to visit each other
and she can make arrangements while you’re at your home. You
also want to find someone who isn’t financially burdened. The
thing is that gowns, showers, bachelorette parties, and gifts

And then the men

Just like choosing the Matron or Maid of Honor, you don’t want

Rusks in South Africa are part of the cultural identity - one of the things that exiles in a foreign land long for. Children are brought up on Rooibos tea (a herbal bush tea) and rusks. These aren’t the pallid soggy affairs that pass for rusks in the UK - Farleys rusks given to teething infants and guaranteed to coat your entire house with a paste of gooey gloop. South African rusks are of a texture somewhere between bread and cake, with extra bits of raisin or nuts, baked hard so that they must be dunked in tea or else gnawed slowly. They last a long time in an airtight tin, so are baked in big batches but even so they don’t last long in our house.

As an Englishwoman married to a South African living in London, I came across rusks on our visits to his family and was instantly converted. ‘Ouma’s Rusks’ are the famous ones that come in several varieties and we always came home with a few packs in our suitcase. On a longer visit in a cottage in Philadelphia, near Cape Town, I found a recipe to bake my own rusks, tried it and have been baking them every two weeks pretty much ever since.

When our son was a toddler waking at 5.30 every morning, the only thing that made the morning bearable was the thought of tea and rusks. Our son started off on them early and our sofa became a nest of cushions and crumbs. The first thing he ever helped bake was rusks and I always had my patience tried, as the mix became the scene of excavations with diggers or a castle with a moat. The girls also joined in when they were old enough, so for a time I had three children all wrestling to get their hands in the dough. Now the youngest is adept at making balls the right size and I have a band of useful helpers. So rusks have become part of our family culture too, my children may have missed out on the rooibos tea tradition - (I love it, they hate it) but at least they were brought up properly as regards rusks!

Several friends in London were smitten, asked for the recipe and started baking and it has since been dispersed as far afield as Pakistan and the USA.

The recipe:

South African Buttermilk Rusks

1.240kg / 2lb12oz flour (I use 1kg wholemeal and the rest white)
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons of salt
250g / 9oz butter
cup raisins (optional)
2 eggs
1 cups brown sugar
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup oil

(1 cup=250ml)
Preheat the oven to 190C/380F
Grease three loaf tins of base measurement 20cmx10cm / 8″x 4″ approx or any combination of deep baking dish that adds up to about the same.

In a large mixing bowl sift together the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar and salt. Cut the butter into small cubes and rub into the flour. Add the raisins if you are using them. You can experiment with various nuts and seeds as well, though the rusks are equally good plain.

In another bowl mix together the buttermilk, sugar, eggs and oil and beat until well combined. Stir liquid into dry ingredients and mix then knead to a firm dough.

Form the dough into balls about the size of a ping-pong ball and pack them tightly in one layer into the loaf tins. I usually get six rows of three into each of my tins. Bake for 45 minutes.

Turn out onto a rack and leave to cool for 30 minutes before breaking up into individual rusks along the joins of the balls. Dry in a low oven 100C/200F for 4-5 hours until the centre is completely dry. These can be kept for ages in an airtight container.

Warning: crumbs guaranteed on the sofa, in the bed, over the carpet and the car seats!
