Web Site Traffic is a Meaningless Concept

Everyone talks about getting web site traffic, and for good reason. Getting visitors is an effort to say the least. Since you don’t make money without them, this is a serious subject for debate. Traffic is a fundamental factor in making sales, since someone can only buy from your site if they’re actually on your site. There’s just one little problem: Getting web site traffic is a meaningless concept.

Traffic in and of itself is useless. I know it’s nice to watch those visitor graphs spike, because I’ve seen it myself and felt my heart go pitter-pat. But if the people visiting just happen to be there because they are, it’s not going to work out for you.

To make money, you need to get interested visitors to your site. The more interested visitors you get, the better you’ll do. Better known as targeted traffic, interested visitors buy products, click related ads, and have a far greater chance of getting you paid than just someone off the busy internet street, or just plain old ‘traffic’.

Think of it this way. Generic traffic is like a bunch of people walking by on a city sidewalk. Your site is someone standing on that sidewalk holding a sign that says ‘Buy my niche stuff’. You’re not going to get a lot of interest. But hold up that sign in a place where people are interested in your niche, and that changes. Yes, you get fewer visitors, but the odds of converting to a sale have just increased.

The best ways to get targeted traffic are to:

  • Put ads in related (and only related) eZines.
  • Pay-per-click advertising, which you can target by keyword and optimize to remove all but the words that actually convert.
  • Article marketing, which is my personal favorite. It does a lot of good things at once and it’s free.
  • Link trades with related sites. Link trading with just anyone is not advisable and usually ineffective.

Anything that generates web site traffic but can’t target it is a waste of time, effort, and/or money to use. Getting blasts of generic traffic is an exercise in throwing mud at a wall and hoping some of it sticks. That will do little more than burn a hole in your budget and pique your frustrations. So remember, web site traffic is a meaningless concept. You want interested, targeted web site traffic to get the desired results.

Leave Your Fondue Pot at Home: Travel to Switzerland

Switzerland, formally known as The Confederation Helvetica, is a landlocked mountainous haven in the heart of Europe. Partially due to the isolating geography, the Swiss people have maintained a strong commitment to tradition, independence and the preservation of their long-established way of life. Hence, it is very important for the traveler to note that Switzerland is not a member of the European Union and uses the Swiss Franc as their form of currency.

An incredible benefit of Switzerland’s independence is a clean, speedy and reliable train system and public transportation network, including the new Rail 2000 program that offers regular half-hourly service between all major cities.

The thought of Switzerland strikes up images of enchanting castles, milk chocolate, fine cheese speckled with holes, sturdy watches and the Matterhorn. Don’t be fooled by this simplicity or the precision and just-so design of Swiss towns and get ready to discover a society far more rich, worldly and dynamic than you had ever imagined when you travel Switzerland! As homogenous as the nation might appear, Switzerland is divided into very diverse regions with four national languages: German, French, Italian and Romansch (a Latin derivative). English is also spoken widely. The fusion of these cultures adds a zest of flavor that complements the serenely picturesque landscape.

Four Seasons to Travel to Switzerland
Unlike many other European destinations, it is wonderful to travel to Switzerland any time of year! Switzerland is centrally located on the European continent and consequently enjoys moderate and consistent weather for each season. Skiing is by far the best excuse to travel Switzerland in the winter, but make sure not to miss the splendor of cities like Geneva covered in a blanket of snow. Geneva, the second-largest city, is close to the Swiss Alps and the French border and also boasts an international history of its own. The municipality has been central to European affairs for centuries, most notably including the Geneva Convention. Interlaken should be a part of a summer and winter itinerary as well. The pristine setting among some of the tallest and fiercest alpine peaks makes Interlaken a sanctuary for skiers and hikers alike. The town is small and limited on lodging so make reservations early.

In addition to the most popular destinations, such as Zurich and the Alps, the Swiss traveler is encouraged to leave the beaten path behind to discover the true beauty of the country and meet the resilient and warm people who define a nation that is over 700 years old. Remember that traditional does not translate into old-fashioned or archaic in Switzerland. The Swiss society stands out among European nations as an extraordinarily progressive and cutting-edge standard of modernity.

Comparing Boston Area for a mobile car wash business

The Boston suburbs seem to be rich with possible locations to wash cars and a mobile car wash would be well served in that market. The customers have good jobs, high paying salaries and indeed demand such personal car washing services. They desire these services at home and at work. The economy is strong and many high paying jobs exist there. Housing and growth in the real estate of single family dwellings is still up sharply in the subs:

http://realestate.boston.com/communities/profiles/2002/maynard.html

Many folks who work in town have a hell of a commute and if they leave at 5 pm good luck getting back home to the suburbs as traffic out of downtown is a disaster and the people drive like crap, in cities like LA you call in aggressive behavior on the cell phone; in Boston, they did not park the CA in Havad Yad, they are in it on the freeway with their middle finger out the window cursing at you. In Boston they call themselves in for aggressive behavior, like anyone is going to do anything about it anyway? HUH? We see some serious concerns looking at Boston itself for mobile auto detailing. We see downtown areas off the beaten path in many large cities gone to waste where there was once a booming economy, now urban flight, check out Ft Worth TX sometime, part of downtown is outrageously well off and one mile away in the center of the economic birth of downtown, it’s depressed and crime ridden, of course “Isn’t that America.” Yes, unfortunately it is very much America, but the little brick houses for you and me have moved North and West into the suburbs, land of SUV. Which is fine by us mobile detailers, as in any mobile grid based business we move towards those areas to win the market share where the money flow is as consumers forgot they lost their job and are screaming in credit card debt as the commercials of barbarians at the gate come to catapult them away into credit card hell. Hey your plastic is good for us. Question is? Is what’s good for the mobile detailing industry, good for America? Hard to say, there is opportunity in Chaos. Why not ask GM that question, they have the answer. As in jobs; It looks like CA wants to outlaw the SUV for their legislature? Big deal, only problem is Boston as smart as they claim to be still copy everything that CA does? So much for education, Jane Goodall’s Chimps can do better than that, copying everything they do including communication techniques. Monkey see, Monkey do, for all the prestige Universities there you would think they would have stopped short of committing to V-2 and taxied into position and held rather than become the Concorde and followed CA into the doldrums of a fiery hell with the dot com burst. VC all the way down to their local and state government? DAH What happened? They did not even read their own HBR did they? We forgive you, question is do the X’ers who have now bought new homes at the top of the market with no job and nowhere to go and BMW and SUV payments? Okay enough crucifixion on Boston? But really people. You have the luxury of a Fed Bank there and money flow; why not spend it on reality-based concepts? Boy that would be interesting wouldn’t it? Don’t answer that.

Boston is Boston and traffic is traffic and more than anything such a market for mobile services of any kind can only be done by a company, which understands the re-cooping of lost revenues and lost opportunities from traffic flow delays and can repeat such a process thousands of times per week. If you are considering the Boston area for a mobile detailing business be advised keep your routes tight, because the traffic is a bear and the driver act like hungry bears. Think about it.

how to be successful in network marketing

—————————— What is network marketing? —————————— Network marketing or MLM shouldn’t be confused with pyramid selling.

It is literally marketing products through a network of people. This form of distribution is word of mouth or recommendation.

It’s an intellectual form of distribution as unlike retailing the distributors are often very knowledgeable on the products

Large businesses can be built by sponsoring people and teaching them to sponsor. MLM means multi level marketing and refers to the different levels of compensation provided by the company.

By the 1990’s more than 100 billion dollars worth of products were being distributed through Multi level marketing, and that figure is growing rapidly.

You don’t need to sell with MLM. Although the business depends on the distribution of the products, by sponsoring people to buy wholesale and teaching them to sponsor, the products are moving as a direct result.

———————————————– why network marketing is becoming so popular ————————————————

It used to be that people got a job, and probably stayed in that company for life working their way up to the top positions of the company.

Nowdays people feel more insecure in their jobs and worry about being made redundant. With inflation and the rising cost of living, pensions don’t go very far.

Network marketing provides an opportunity to create a residual income for life. It can be fitted in around a full time job, and requires no qualifications. There’s no discrimination against age or sex, and there is the potential for financial freedom.

Usually there is a minimal start up fee, and with no need to stock up on goods this makes it a no risk investment. The only real investment is your time and perseverance to make it work.

MLM has enormous potential especially now as with the internet you are no longer geographically limited. More and more people are choosing to purchase online.

Products are usually of a high quality as money isn’t spent on advertising or packaging. Instead money is put into the products themselves.

———————————————— Secrets to finding success in network marketing ———————————————— Although you work on your own you don’t work alone. You always have your sponsor and upline to call on if you need help.

Before you start any business you must have a plan. Sit down and work out a plan of action on paper. Get your sponsor to help you do this.

Set yourself long term goals. How do you see yourself in 5 years time? Where would you like to live? What car would you like to drive?

Break up these goals up into short term achievable ones. Organise your tasks for each day and stick to them. This way you won’t get despondant and you can see a progress in your business, no matter how small.

Do something each day to help build your business such as making a point of contacting 2 people a day. If you did you would be speaking to 14 a week, that would be 56 a month, or 672 a year. That’s a lot of people!!

Network marketing really is a numbers game, the more people you talk to the more chance you have of finding prospects and ultimately big business builders. If you don’t do anything then you won’t get anything and your business won’t grow.

Even if you only sponsor one person a month into your business, by teaching them to sponsor and purchase the products wholesale you could build up a highly profitable business with huge potential.

You don’t need to panic at the thought of hundreds of people working in your downline and keeping in touch with them all!

If you have a simple duplicatable system that’s teachable to others you can just concentrate on the new people you have sponsored. In the long run it will help your business to grow faster as people won’t be put off by complicated marketing techniques.

Hand out business cards to people you meet.

Put flyers up on supermarket customer notice boards and leave some in restaurants and cafe’s. Flyers are very inexpensive to print out on a pc. I often print a couple of sheets out and then photocopy them, this saves on paper and is very cheap.

Listen to motivational tapes and read books. I recommend these 2 books “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, and “The 45 Second Presentation that will change your life” by Don Failla

Purchase some of your company’s products and try them out. It’s better to know first hand about the products before referring them to others.

Make use of your company’s marketing tools. Audio tapes, marketing leaflets e.t.c, and hand them out to people who may be interested. Don’t try to sell the company or the products. The audio tapes and leaflets generate an interest.

Don’t try and get people to build a business if all they are interested in is buying the products wholesale.

Sometimes you may find that people are just happy to purchase from you and these become your retail customers.

Perseverance is needed as well as belief in yourself and the products. It’s very easy to quit at something just before it starts to work. Don’t ever give up!!

Buy a new home with easy mortgage, 277513 euro in 48 hours

Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. See which lenders are charging fees 6 percent and for how much. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’

A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 6 percent. Different lenders charge different fees. Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 7 percent. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 9 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 7 percent offered by competitors will change.

Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 5 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 3 percentage. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 5 percent. To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering. Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 5 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable.

Free Laptop with Orange Mobile Broadband

Mobile Broadband - the latest internet craze! Not only is this fantastic technology (I use it regularly and think it’s great) already available at low, competive prices, but now there is a great new offer that gets you a free laptop with your mobile broadband. This innovative approach has been spreading round the major broadband companies like wildfire and sounds good to me.

One of mobile broadband’s key players, Orange, has now launched its own “mobile broadband + free laptop” offer. As well as great cost of £25 a month, Orange’s dongle also comes with a handy ASUS Eee PC laptop, 16GB of storage, 1024Mb of RAM and an ultra-light weight of 0.99kg. This package deal makes Orange a dangerous competitor in the mobile broadband market.

The package does have its downside though. For instance, the dongle has a relatively slow connection speed of 1.8Mbps and a pretty average monthly usage of 3GB; based against T-Mobile’s 4.5Mbps and unlimited monthly usage (GB), and against Vodafone’s 7.2Mbps and 5GB monthly usage, the Orange dongle seems rather low in comparison.

This aside, it is Orange’s competitive price and free laptop that make this deal special; this package will be extremely useful if you’re a person who needs affordable, hassle-free internet access while on the move - and with the portable Eee PC, the Orange package fulfills this function perfectly.

Social Skills and Talking to Your Kids: Negative Influences in Their Everyday Media

What used to be taboo, ‘not for children’ is in the media mainstream. Keeping your parental controls on all the violence, sexuality and other inappropriate information being marketed at your child every day is like chopping down a forest while new trees are sprouting behind you. Exasperated parents wonder how to counteract all the negative information their kids are bombarded with from TV, the internet, music and video. Removing it all from view is a tough job and unrealistic. The answer is simple but not always easy. To get your kids on board with you, you first have to get on board their ship. Parents, educators and caregivers have to find subtle ways to be involved and begin conversations about what their kids are interested in and exposed to.

This is especially important when working with your kids and adults with ADHD, Autism and Asperger Syndrome. Here are systematic steps to get your kids to be more open and receptive to discussing what they see and hear:

1. Find ways to be a part of what your kids like watch, play and listen to. This does not mean you become a devotee of their rock or rap groups. Your kids won’t like it if you try to be them. You might casually ask to play a round of her video game or join him watching an episode of his TV show.

2. Open up dialog. Initiate conversations about your child’s interests. If you watched a TV show together, show your interest with non-judgmental questions. Asking for factual information is safe and gets you up to speed on the characters. “What was she in trouble for?” “Did she ever date him?” As your child, gets the sense that your interest is genuine, you can sprinkle in some opinion questions. “What did you think about how he treated her?” Keep it light and short.

3. Be on the watch for teachable moments. As your child builds trust in your intentions, opportunities will present themselves for you to gently influence. If your child is not in the mood to listen, don’t push. Keep showing up as an interested parent.

4. Listen to your child with full attention. Practice being silent longer than you speak. This shows up in both your words and your body language. Be face to face and focused on your child, not multi-tasking. If your child is on a talking streak, seize it as a great listening opportunity.

6. Make comments that show open mindedness. Ignore what turns you off. When your child feels you respect his world, you are opening a door to communication.

7. Ask open-ended questions that help him your child to think it through. “What did you think about the part where…?” Respect her answer and reflect back in a few words what you understand about your child’s view. Then share yours in a few words.

8. Keep it simple. Young children need short, clear pieces of information. It does not change as they get older. Teenagers are leary of what comes across as lecturing. A little nugget of simple wisdom is more likely to stick with them.

9. Begin to show your interest when they are young. As they grow, it will be a natural thing for your children to talk about their world.

10. Be patient. Children’s work is to sort out their experiences and, with your guidance, create their own set of solid, sensible values.

Yikes! My Child WON’T Share! What Do I Do?

Years ago my husband and I attended a parenting
class and one thing that stands out in my mind from
that course was something very simplistic that the
trainer said. He asked the question, “If your kid
doesn’t like broccoli, what should you do?”

I thought for a minute while he paused and the first
thought that came to me was, do my kids even like
broccoli? Hmmmmm.

Then in a loud voice the trainer enthusiastically
said, “You should feed him MORE broccoli, that’s what!”
The reason this lesson stands out in my mind so clearly
years later is because I have used it over and over in
making my parenting decisions. I have gone back and
pondered it again and again. Why? This one simple
concept has become a principle to me in my parenting
skills.

If your child doesn’t want to do something, at times,
it is appropriate to make him do it. Those of you that
know me personally know that I strive to allow my
children to make decisions for themselves and at times
they make wrong and unwise choices. The goal is to
have them learn from those poor choices. I don’t
believe in forcing them to do things such as eating all
of their dinner, wearing their hair a certain way or
perhaps wearing shoes they hate. You do have to
balance things and encourage your children to grow
emotionally and behaviorally to become good citizens.
You do that by exposing them and influencing them to
attempt new things that they may not want to do. In
other words, there are always things in life that we
must do, even if we don’t want to. We have to go to
work. We have to go to school. We have to obey the
laws of the land.

Now, lets apply this to getting your children to share
with others. If you have a child that will not share their
toys and you indulge that behavior by allowing it, well,
subliminally, you are telling the child that you agree
with him and he really doesn’t have to share his toys.
Sharing is something that a child must be taught.
There is a healthy way to teach your child to share and
you might be surprised to know that I don’t think you
should always make your child share with others.
There is a step-by-step process that you can follow to
get your child to share.

The first step is awareness.

Are you aware of what is going on with your child’s
playmates? As the adult, make yourself aware of what
is going on when playmates come around. Listen to
them playing. Your child may not want to share for
fear of losing a favorite toy or for fear that his favorite
toy will get broken or scribbled on. Pay attention and
see if your child has a friend that is too wild with toys
and often breaks them, or maybe a playmate tends
to “accidentally” take things home with him and not
bring them back, or maybe they even have a tendency
to color on toys? If this is the case, then you
shouldn’t make your child share with a playmate like
that! You may even encourage your child to put his
favorite toys up when that particular playmate comes
over. Or better yet, reevaluate who your child is
playing with!

The next step would be to think of yourself.
If you have an irresponsible friend that borrows your
lawn tools and leaves them out in the yard to get
ruined, you probably don’t want to loan him anything do
you? This is usually the same friend that is constantly
wanting to borrow many of your items, probably
because he ruined his own already, right? Perhaps you
have a friend or family member that doesn’t return
things when they borrow them or maybe they return
them damaged, dirty or in poor working condition.
Again, who wants to loan something to someone like
that? I suspect not you and I know, not me! So don’t
make your child do that with his items either!

On the other hand, if you have a friend that borrows
things and returns them in a timely manner, in the
condition in which you leant them, well then you are
more likely to “share” your things with this person,
right? Explain this concept to your child using simple
words. Ask your child if he thinks the playmate takes
good care of his or her toys. Talk to them and get
them thinking about it. If the playmate is too rough,
don’t make your child share with him.

The next step is listening. TO YOURSELF!
After you have made yourself aware of the playmates
behavior, the next thing is to use words that children
understand. When an adult uses the word “share” in
terms of food, the child sees you rip a cookie in half
and give some to someone else. Whoa! Next, you pick
up the child’s doll and say, I want you to “share” your
doll with your friend. Yikes! The kid half expects you
to rip the doll’s arms off. Adults sometimes don’t realize
the power of their words on a child. Listen to yourself!

What I would suggest is for you to use the
word “share” only when you are dealing with food
because that is really what you are asking your child to
do, give a little of what they have to someone else.

When you are dealing with toys and objects you might
say, “Let’s allow your friend have a turn playing with
your toy now, okay?”. This is more understandable to
the child and they will not envision you ripping their toy
in half.

After saying everything just right, you may still find
that you have a child that won’t share or take turns!
What then? Well, that is when I go back to the
phrase, “If they don’t like broccoli, feed them more
broccoli!” In other words, MAKE them share. How can
you make them? Simple, you can do this by
saying, “You must take turns with your toys and if you
don’t, mommy or daddy will take the toy and put it
away from you until you decide to give others a turn
playing with it.” I know, you are thinking, wow, that is
tough, right? Yup, anything that your child is so
attached to that they won’t allow anyone else near it,
is too much of an attachment. It is an attitude of total
selfishness and you need to discourage it.

You don’t need to torture the child and keep
threatening to take the toy. (Click the link in this
newsletter to read about threatening repeating). Just
like the Nike commercial says. Just do it! Do it very
logically and calmly after telling the child ONE time only.
If the child has a fit and asks where the toys is, explain
to them that it is safe and that you have put it away
until they were willing to allow others a turn. Do not
give in, no matter what! When the child agrees to allow
others a turn, give the item back to him. Empower
your child with control of the timeframe in which he
gets the item back. Each child is different and one child
might decide to share immediately and another child will
decide to take turns only after a week.

My final words to you are this, remember, being a
parent is challenging work! Stay focused on your
parenting plan, turn on the creative portion of your
brain and then? OUTSMART THE LITTLE BOOGERS! It is
the only way!

Free 12 Month Cell Phones

The general public tend to have a poor understanding of free line rental products due to them being a new phenomenon. The fact they are niche deal is why they remain the most cost effective mobile deals currently on the market.

Without exception best priced way to find a free line rental mobile contract is over the web. As free line rental deals are a little unusual package it makes sense to find a good a mobile comparison site to see the best deals at that given moment.

A free line rental deal is a kind of one hundred percent cashback package. This means you must pay the bill as you would normally for the first months. At a later point in time in the mobile contract you are allowed to to claim one hundred percent of the cost of the mobile back from the company which initially gave you the mobile.

In reality a free line rental cell phone contract is not supposed to cost a penny to run. Assuming of course the customer is rigorous in making their request for for one hundred perecent cashback by redemption. This is rarely as easy as consumers are told because mobile shops put in a few sneaky pitfalls with the fine print of free line rental packages so they cut back on the numbers of successful customers.

Despite the pitfalls of free line rental products they are completely legitimate and it is possible to get free mobile for full duration of a 12 month contract.

The most significant risk of free line rental offers is that should the shop go out of business you will be unable to redeem your 100% cash back. 12 month free is will always be a trade off, as they are only offered on older types of cell phone.
